Contract & Technical Support Manager

Location: Based near Bishop’s Stortford

Salary: £55,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 Hours Per Week.

About the Role

As a Contract & Technical Support Manager, you will drive technical excellence, compliance, and innovation across our clients services. You will serve as the go-to subject matter expert for complex diagnostics, HVAC systems, and project delivery. By providing advanced engineering support and maintaining strict health and safety standards, you will ensure our clients’ customers receive top-tier service and continuous system improvement. Key Responsibilities

* Provide expert-level guidance on HVAC systems, plant room equipment, and building services to engineers, clients, and internal teams.

* Lead advanced fault-finding and root-cause analysis to ensure first-time fixes and continuous system optimization.

* Support the design, specification, and delivery of small works, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with client expectations.

* Ensure all activities strictly adhere to Health & Safety legislation, technical regulations, and industry standards (e.g., SFG20, Building Safety Act).

* Conduct detailed performance assessments and site audits, producing actionable reports and technical risk assessments.

* Elevate the capability of our engineering workforce through technical training, toolbox talks, and continuous mentorship.

* Act as the technical SME in client meetings, advising on energy efficiency upgrades, plant lifecycles, and system improvements.

* Champion the use of new technologies, including CAFM, IoT monitoring, and energy management software, to enhance service intelligence.

* Review and approve sub-contractor technical submissions to guarantee workmanship and system integrity.

What You Bring

Essential:

* Level 3 (minimum) trade qualification in at least one relevant discipline (alongside GCSE-level general education).

* Proven experience supervising multi-disciplinary maintenance workforces and delivering on contractual commitments.

* Strong IT proficiency (including Microsoft Office) and general supplier/product awareness.

* Excellent problem-solving abilities, logical thinking, and high attention to detail.

* Exceptional communication skills and a strong customer service ethos.

* A proactive, self-starting attitude with the ability to manage a high-pressure workload.

* Commitment to continuous learning (CPD) regarding building regulations and Health & Safety.

Desirable:

* Multi-skilled trade qualifications.

* Supervisory or first-line management qualifications.

* Health & Safety construction-based qualifications.

* A proven track record of raising and issuing technical quotations or client recommendations
