Overview

Mental Health Physiotherapy is a fast‑growing and exciting specialism within Physiotherapy. This is a unique opportunity to join the first team of Physiotherapists to work across the Trusts adult mental health wards.


Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of adult patients with mental health conditions across adult, older adult and dementia wards.
  • Provide direct physiotherapy interventions including mobility and falls, dementia care, posture care, respiratory care, MSK pain/chronic pain and other physical health conditions such as neurological and orthopaedic conditions.
  • Deliver group classes and support the development of other staff on wards.
  • Support student Physiotherapists when the service has been established and, as the team grows, take on a supervisory role for Band 5 Physiotherapists.
  • Collaborate with social care, primary care and other specialist secondary services.
  • Participate in the design, delivery and evaluation of evidence‑based care pathways.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Physiotherapist registered with the HCPC.
  • Experience in a broad range of areas including older people, dementia, rehabilitation, neurology, musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and respiratory physiotherapy.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced and varied role.
