Overview

We are an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, delivering community and hospital‑based care to improve people’s physical and mental health. Our Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Bodmin Hospital offers an intensive, client‑centred rehabilitation service for stroke patients. As a Rehabilitation Support Worker you will work alongside Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, supporting the therapy team and patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to stroke patients in the rehabilitation setting, ensuring safe and compassionate care.
  • Assist with daily activities, therapeutic exercises and equipment handling under the guidance of the therapy team.
  • Participate in therapy management of a varied stroke clinical caseload and facilitate discharge from hospital.
  • Support occupational therapy and physiotherapy sessions, contributing to treatment plans and patient progress.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, adhere to infection control and quality standards, and assist with patient assessments.
Working Hours and Shifts

The therapy team provides a 6/7‑day service, covering core hours 08:00–18:00, with some weekend working. Shifts are normally 8–16 or 10–18. You must be able to meet these core requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Previous experience of care and/or rehabilitation is desirable. Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and support patients with ongoing health needs is essential.
