The closing date is 10 March 2026

We're looking for an exceptional Physiotherapist to join our MSK Team providing a high quality, patient centred and innovative service. This fixed term contract will be for maternity cover.

This band 7 blended FCP/Physio role will involve providing expert patient-centred assessment, diagnosis and first-line treatment for individual GP practices across the South Primary Care Networks in a variety of settings and using a combination of face-to-face and virtual consultations.

An ability to manage undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions and identify red flags and underlying serious pathology and take appropriate action is critical to the role. Extensive ongoing MSK experience and knowledge to an advanced level will therefore be essential requirements. Main duties of the job

The role will require the postholder to run clinics both virtual and face-to-face in GP practices as part of the First Contact Practitioner service while also providing ongoing musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy assessment and treatment as part of the Norfolk and Waveney MSK services.

Both roles will require the post-holder to use specialist theoretical and practical knowledge and undertake the advanced assessment of patients within the specialty who may have simple, moderately or highly complex MSK conditions or a chronic presentation.

Assessments and treatments will take the form of face-to-face or virtual consultations to enhance patient access to both services.

Flexible hours are an option for this role. Early mornings, evenings may be required. Work bases will vary on need across the South PCNs.

Our Clinical Team comprises band Orthopaedic Clinical Specialists, FCPs, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Technical Instructors. FCP clinics are held either virtually, in the GP surgery or as a combination.

We provide comprehensive in-service training and opportunities to attain further career development as an Advanced Practitioner in line with Health Education England's Roadmap to Practice.

Apply now to join an organisation that has been awarded an 'Outstanding' rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the highest possible rating and the first stand-alone NHS community trust in the country to be awarded the title.

Job responsibilities

  • Will have knowledge across several different clinical fields in order to triage referrals appropriately. Knowledge and interpretation of general health, organisational and occupational policies together with expert clinical analysis is required for the postholder to assume ultimate responsibility for these decisions.
  • Will act independently to assess, analyse and provide a clinical diagnosis for individual patients, using high level complex decision making to inform the diagnosis, treatment and management and onward referral within scope of practice of a wide range of patients with musculoskeletal conditions from routine to highly complex. A key element of the role will be to be able to quickly identify red flag conditions and/or other underlying serious pathology requiring potential emergency care and take the appropriate action to determine which clinical pathway will be most suitable for the patient.
  • Will be required to refer for diagnostics, to analyse the results and take appropriate action by referring to other team and services e.g. in primary and secondary care. The

How Many Edge Computing Tools Do You Need to Know to Get an Edge Computing Job?

If you’re trying to start or grow a career in edge computing, it can feel like you’re navigating a maze of tools, frameworks and platforms — Kubernetes, Docker, IoT frameworks, AWS Greengrass, Azure IoT Edge, OpenShift, TinyML toolkits, networking orchestration, real-time streaming frameworks, and on it goes. Scroll job boards and community forums and it’s easy to conclude that unless you master every buzzword imaginable, you’ll never get a job. Here’s the honest truth most edge computing hiring managers won’t necessarily say out loud: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every edge computing tool — they hire you because you can solve real system problems using the tools you know. Tools matter, yes — but only when they support clear outcomes: reliable systems, performance at scale, secure edge deployments and real business value. So how many edge computing tools do you actually need to know to secure a job? For most edge computing roles, the answer is fewer than you think — and a lot clearer when sorted by fundamentals and roles. This guide shows you what matters, what doesn’t, and how to focus your time wisely so you come across as capable, confident and employable.

What Hiring Managers Look for First in Edge Computing Job Applications (UK Guide)

In today’s fast-evolving tech landscape, edge computing is one of the most sought-after fields — blending distributed systems, embedded systems, networking, cloud, IoT, data and real-time processing. But that also means hiring managers are highly selective. They scan applications fast and look for signals of relevance, impact, technical depth and real-world delivery long before they read every line. This guide demystifies what hiring managers in edge computing look for first in your application — so you can tailor your CV, portfolio and cover letter to jump out of the stack. Whether you’re targeting edge systems roles, embedded IoT edge jobs, edge-native data roles, edge platform engineering or edge-AI positions, this checklist will help you position your experience in a way hiring managers can trust immediately.

The Skills Gap in Edge Computing Jobs: What Universities Aren’t Teaching

Edge computing is rapidly moving from niche concept to critical infrastructure. As organisations deploy connected devices, sensors, autonomous systems and real-time analytics, processing data closer to where it is generated has become essential. From smart cities and manufacturing to healthcare, transport, defence and telecommunications, edge computing underpins systems where latency, reliability and resilience matter. Demand for edge computing skills across the UK is rising steadily — yet employers consistently report difficulty finding candidates who are genuinely job-ready. Despite growing interest and academic coverage, universities are not fully preparing graduates for real edge computing jobs. This article explores the edge computing skills gap in depth: what universities teach well, what they consistently miss, why the gap exists, what employers actually want, and how jobseekers can bridge the divide to build sustainable careers in edge computing.
