Are you an enthusiastic and organised physiotherapist with a passion for musculoskeletal care? This is aone yearFixed Term contract to cover maternity leave.

We receive a diverse range of referrals fromGP surgeries,First Contact Practitioners (FCPs),Orthopaedicclinics, the Triage and Assessment Service (TAS), as well as from our Specialist Spinal Service (IPASS) and Community Specialist Service (CSS)and self-referrals.You'llbe part of a supportive and skilled team, working alongside colleagues frombands 3 to 7, with access to Band 7 Clinical Specialist Physiotherapists for supervision, in-service training, and development opportunities.You'llalsobenefitfrom strong links with Advanced Practice Physiotherapists.

Main duties of the job

To work as a senior physiotherapy practitioner to provide a high quality, responsive outpatient physiotherapy service for adults & children with musculoskeletal & orthopaedic conditions

To provide a high standard of physiotherapy assessment,treatmentand caseload management

To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner working without direct supervision.

To be involved in supervision and education of band 5 physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, work experiencestudentsand physiotherapy students.

To be proactively involved in service development and quality improvement

Person SpecificationEducation/Qualifications
  • Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC/GOsC Registered
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD e.g. maintained in a portfolio; attendance at musculoskeletal postgraduate courses; informal learning
  • Member of the CSP
Previous Experience
  • 18 months band 5 rotational experience or suitable alternative experience; must include at least 4 months of Musculoskeletal Outpatients.
  • Have worked in the NHS and understand the role of a Band 6 within it
  • Experience working as part of a physiotherapy and/or multidisciplinary team
  • Evidence of student, Band 5 or physiotherapy assistant supervision
  • Previous experience at Band 6 Physiotherapist level
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Previous experience with audit
  • Self-directed learning
  • Ability to work independently
  • Awareness of Primary care working and NHS structures
  • Working knowledge of RIO / Smart card
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to travel to multiple sites
  • Clear vision of role/commitment to speciality
