MSK Physiotherapy Assistant

Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistants, will work closely with all users of our services and their families, friends and carers, who all play an invaluable contribution in how our users experience our services. Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistants are expected to be kind and responsive but professional and informative and contribute to the quality of the services provided within the community team across the health economy.

Main duties of the job
  • To provide skilled and specific physiotherapy support to treat and promote the independence of patients with a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions.
  • To carry out a programme of treatment prescribed by the Physiotherapists. This can include the supervision of patients individually, in the gymnasium or other group settings.
  • To be responsible for housekeeping tasks including monitoring, maintaining and cleaning physiotherapy equipment and general tidiness of the department.
  • Responsible for own documentation using Trust software and administration tasks as required
  • Ability to travel across the Trust in a timely manner if required
  • This job is based between Sevenoaks Hospital and Tonbridge Cottage Hospital. You will also be required to work across additional sites depending on service need; The Churchill Centre, Aylesford and West View Integrated Care Centre, Tenterden. Therefore, driving is essential to the role

Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB). Nursing vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses.

Person SpecificationQualifications
  • Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/ GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths)
  • Relevant level 3 qualification (NVQ / QCF Diploma or certificate of care / Advanced apprenticeship) or equivalent
Experience
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting/ previous NHS experience
  • Experience working within a MSK Physiotherapy team
Knowledge
  • Understands the role and remit of Unregistered worker
  • Knowledge of up to date clinical practice
  • Awareness of developments in the NHS
Skills
  • A full, valid UK driving licence, or a full, valid driving licence issued by an EU country (not exchanged from a non-EU country licence) and the ability to travel independently are essential for this role.
