Job summary

An exciting opportunity has become available within Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP) to join our team of Physiotherapists as a Band 5 Rotational MSK Physiotherapist. There are several permanent full-time MSK posts available with rotations based in various community locations within CCICP and Leighton Hospital outpatients.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-rounded HCPC registered Physiotherapist with experience of working in the UK. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle or the ability to meet the travel requirements of the post is required. Your application should detail your experience to date and give clear reasons for applying for a rotational musculoskeletal post.

Our mentorship programme offers regular supervision, setting objectives, promoting self-analysis and development. Your development will be supported via the band 5 competency package. Regular CPD is offered with advice and support from Advanced Clinical Specialist Physiotherapists, peer review sessions, and monthly in-service training. Service development and innovation is encouraged alongside participation in audit and research. Main duties of the job

You will act as an autonomous practitioner providing clinical assessment and treatment of patients referred with musculoskeletal conditions by their GP, self-referrals, or post-operative patients referred via orthopaedics.

You will independently manage your own daily caseload as part of the physiotherapy team.

The role may require you to assist in the supervision of Assistants and Physiotherapy Students.

Job responsibilities
  • To rotate through a range of MSK rotations in Primary Care Centers and hospital-based outpatient settings within the South and Vale Royal Localities.
  • To undertake assessment of patients with a wide range of conditions and to work as autonomous clinicians under the guidance of Clinical Specialist Physiotherapists, using analytical skills and clinical reasoning to interpret Assessment findings, diagnose where appropriate, identify patient problems, set goals, and provide a treatment plan and progression.
  • To respect the individuality, values, cultural and religious diversity of patients, contributing to a service sensitive to these needs.
  • To utilise effective communication skills to deliver clinical advice and treatment programmes sensitively, considering the needs of carers.
  • To gain consent for treatment and motivate patients to comply with treatment programmes.
  • To undertake clinical assessment and formulate evidence-based, individualized treatment plans in agreement with the patient.
  • To implement individual and/or group interventions for patients.
  • To monitor progress and review treatment plans and interventions to achieve goals.
  • To provide appropriate oral and written information for patients and carers where relevant.
  • To develop and maintain good working relationships with other healthcare professions, social care and other agencies to ensure integrated and high-quality patient outcomes.
  • To maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional standards and local policies and procedures.
  • To provide accurate and timely information and reports to referring agents and other agencies where appropriate.
  • To record and submit clinical activity data as required by the Trust in an accurate and timely manner.
  • To ensure the safe and timely discharge of patients from the caseload, liaising with other agencies as required.
  • To be responsible for the safe and competent use of equipment, including providing support, education and training to staff, patients and carers as required.
  • To contribute to departmental clinical audit and demonstrate the ability to critically evaluate current research and apply findings to practice.
Person Specification

Written Essential: HCPC Registered Physiotherapist.

Written Essential: Clear desire to work in MSK Physiotherapy.

Desirable: Evidence of MSK placement; Student NHS experience as a physio.

Written Essential: Commitment to ongoing CPD.
