We are developing an innovative medical device to address chronic wounds and assiociated conditions. We are looking for an excellent Embedded Electronics Engineer to join our team. This role involves the design, development, and testing of miniaturized electronic components and firmware for a medical device. You will work closely with senior engineering advisors to verify and validate product functionality. Responsibilities Details

  1. Design and develop core electronic components, including complex circuit-board plans, detailed schematics and models using CAD tools such as KiCad.
  2. Develop and integrate a suite of medical sensors and associated methods.
  3. Utilize Python or similar languages for data analysis, signal processing, and validation.
  4. Create and implement testing hardware, firmware, and software to meet design specifications.
  5. Conduct comprehensive testing, diagnostics, and verification to ensure optimal device performance.
  6. Maintain meticulous project documentation and testing plans, providing regular progress reports.
  7. Ensure accurate record-keeping for regulatory submission and technical file development.
    Person Specifications -Essential
  8. Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering (Master’s preferred) with at least 5 years of industrial experience in medical devices or related sectors (e.g., Automotive, Aerospace).
  9. Strong expertise in microcontrollers, embedded system design, and firmware development.
  10. Proven experience in electronic prototyping, testing, and debugging.
  11. Skilled in interfacing with embedded hardware using protocols such as UART, I2C, SPI, RS232, USB.
  12. Proficiency in sensor data analysis, IoT architecture (e.g., Azure IoT Hub), and software debugging.
  13. Hands-on experience in PCB design, from concept through to production, using major design software.
  14. Excellent prototyping skills, including soldering and testing with SMD and PTH components.
  15. Solid understanding of analogue and digital electronics at the component level.
  16. Exceptional documentation and communication skills.
  17. Full right to work in the UK
    Person Specifications – Desirable
  18. Low power design and battery management
  19. Awareness of medical device processes and standards (ISO13485, 62304, 60601)
  20. Knowledge of machine learning model development
  21. Experience with mechanical design software eg. Fusion 360, Rhino3D, AutoCAD or equivalent
