Your Role

Tetra Tech is looking for a mechanically biased Associate/AD/Director to join our dynamic M&E team based in Leeds. The Tetra Tech Europe headquarters has recently moved into the heart of the Leeds business community offering a range of professional services including mechanical and electrical design, civil and structural engineering, acoustics, planning and project management.


Key to the structure and performance of the building services team in Leeds and you would be responsible for the delivery of engineering design solutions, the management of your projects and the performance of your project team.


You will need to ensure the provision and successful delivery of building services across a wide range of sectors including defence, commercial, industrial, retail, healthcare, education and leisure within both public and private domains.


This role will include all aspects of a building services engineering consultancy and you be reporting directly to the Engineering Director within the Leeds office. You will require a background in mechanical engineering but with a high level of knowledge in electrical engineering, public health and sustainability and a key understanding of construction.


Your responsibilities will include the technical and commercial management of your own projects with a proven track record in delivery. You are to manage and develop other engineers, carry out calculations and verify those carried out by your team, estimate cost and finance for the business and costs for budgets.


You will have the passion and drive to manage projects in accordance with the client's brief and programme, developing good business and customer relations. Your works will range from conceptual through to detailed design, controlling and maintaining the quality of work in accordance within the Tetra Tech policies and standards.


You will assist and lead in project winning, bids and interviews. You will be required to use your skills in contributing to and leading projects bids and tender submissions.


Qualifications

As we work with our clients to deliver zero and low carbon solutions and to meet the Government's 2050 net zero target, you are to have the knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to work with the project team to develop and drive the sustainability agenda and low carbon design.


You will be required to attain security clearance to MOD "SC" level. You will be a good communicator verbally and in the written word expected to communicate with educated clients at the highest level.


Your skills will include:



  • Educated to at least degree level in mechanical engineering, building services engineering or other relevant field
  • Chartered Engineer and member of relevant body
  • Strong project management skills in delivering building services projects from concept through to handover
  • Excellent communication and client facing skills with the confidence to manage varying client situations
  • Ability to develop relationships with new and existing clients
  • Ambition and drive to lead and develop a team of engineers and technicians
  • High level of knowledge and experience of mechanical engineering and low carbon design with a key understanding of other disciplines
  • Knowledge and experience of using IES software is essential with the ability to interrogate cooling and heating loads, energy models and dynamic simulations carried out by others
  • Experience and knowledge of using Revit and Navisworks software. Use of MagiCAD software would be useful but not essential
  • Proven ability to develop designs conscious of energy conservation, sustainability and with a knowledge basis of renewable technologies
