Baker Hughes is hiring for an Aero - Mechanical Field Service Engineer. This role is part of the Industry & Energy Technology (IET) team, providing industry-leading products and services to optimize energy extraction, production, and processing, helping customers reduce operating costs and improve productivity.

Overview

As an Aeroderivative Turbine Mechanical Field Service Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for global customers on-site. You will lead activities, people and HSE compliance to a high standard and provide technical direction to internal teams and skilled labor.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical direction for site activities to internal teams and skilled labor to ensure safety, compliance, and quality.
  • Perform mechanical and hydraulic maintenance, repair or replacement of parts as directed.
  • Use hand tools and small power tools to conduct general maintenance of Aeroderivative Gas Turbines.
  • Execute hands-on job duties on site, including sub-contractor coordination and customer/internal communication.
  • Troubleshoot complicated mechanical and hydraulic problems on variable pitch/variable speed turbines.
  • Oversee, overhaull, troubleshoot and commission Aeroderivative products at customer sites.
  • Lead in customer and contractor meetings to share and update action plans and advise on technical solutions.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience working in a mechanical role in an energy or oil and gas environment (or similar).
  • Working knowledge of installation and maintenance of rotating equipment or turbine aeroderivative technology.
  • Strong customer service orientation and experience guiding customers through difficult decisions.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Good English language skills.
  • EU Passport or European Work permit and availability to travel globally up to 70% of the time.

  • Role involves working on-site with customers in locations across the world; travel and project-based on-site requirements apply.
