Senior Heritage Mechanic

A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Heritage Mechanic, reporting to the Heritage Operations Manager. You will work across multiple functions within our Formula One environment in building and supporting the department as we expand our heritage collection.


We are seeking a dynamic and versatile individual to play a key role within our Formula One environment, contributing across multiple functions and ensuring our Heritage collection is meticulously built, preserved, and prepared for global events. This position also supports the continued expansion of our Heritage facility.


This is a highly varied and hands‑on role that blends mentorship, mechanical expertise, IT proficiency, and leadership. No two days are the same.


Key Accountabilities

  • Supervise, guide, and support a small team, including training apprentices and junior team members.
  • Oversee car builds and help develop the next generation of race team mechanics.
  • Ensure Heritage cars are built to agreed specifications and accurately documented within Heritage IT systems.
  • Assist in the implementation of service plans to maintain cars in excellent running condition.
  • Carry out rebuilds of on‑car components and manage sign‑off procedures.
  • Perform hands‑on mechanical tasks as a core part of the role.
  • Support the expansion of the team and collection through effective car inventory management.
  • Manage and collate all necessary support equipment, including software, to ensure long‑term operational capability of all cars.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date stock levels of Heritage parts.
  • Utilise SAP for lifing, parts tracking, and location management.
  • Coordinate and oversee the manufacture of specialised Heritage equipment.
  • Create and maintain working documentation for travelling equipment.
  • Use and support the latest Digital Capital systems.
  • Work closely with the Parts Controller to ensure an efficient operational flow.
  • Support global operations by assisting other departments and partner companies as required.
  • Travel internationally to support Heritage events.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience as a mechanic within a motorsport setting, F1, F2, Formula E, WEC etc.
  • Good hands‑on experience of tooling including fabrication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Innovative, dynamic approach with a focus on progressing Heritage operations.
  • Experienced in highly technical, fast‑paced environments, with strong analytical attention to detail.
  • Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings/specifications and using car‑parts systems and logging tools.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office, with the ability to work proactively and use initiative.
  • Highly self‑motivated, results‑driven, and committed to continuous improvement and developing new skills.
  • Effective under pressure, able to multitask and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards.
  • Experience in a Heritage motorsport environment would be advantageous.
