Be the nexus linking engineering, manufacture and customers

Cambridge; £DoE + Benefits

Cambridge based fabless semiconductor company is looking to recruit an industry experienced Product Development Engineer to join them. The role intersects between engineering, customers and manufacturing, and acts as an important bridge between different stakeholders (including technical and commercial teams).

The company has developed solutions for smart connectivity through innovations around front-end RF architecture. Their plan for global dominance is through providing connectivity as a basic commodity allowing any device to have access to connectivity features. That simple ethos empowers the world around us, as connected devices are more useful than in isolation.

As a Product Development Engineer, your role will be varied. You will work on product definitions and requirements, then look to execute engineering plans and integrate separate engineering streams, validate and test for customer acceptance, and take products to manufacture, whilst maintaining clear communications across multi-functional teams.

Requirements:

* Have a technical background (BEng / MEng in Electrical Engineering) and extensive demonstrable experience or RF systems / modules for mixed-signal IC-based products.

* Specific systems-level experience of RF based product engineering development including RF measurements, validation and performance trade-offs.

* Strong communication skills ideally in a technically-biased client-facing role. Able to speak to engineers and non-technical stakeholders.

* Comfortable in a fast-paced scale-up environment.

* Any exposure to RF front-end modules for mobile / IoT would be desirable.

This role would be based full-time at their Cambridge offices. Ad hoc hybrid working is possible. On offer is an excellent remunerations package including share options.

Interested applicants must have full, unrestricted rights to work in the UK.

New Edge Computing Employers to Watch in 2026: UK and Global Companies Shaping Edge Innovation

Edge computing is transforming how data is processed by bringing compute power closer to the source of generation. With the proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT), real‑time analytics, autonomous systems, and latency‑sensitive applications, edge computing has moved from a niche discipline to a core component of digital infrastructure. In 2026, organisations that specialise in or heavily invest in edge computing are expanding their teams to build distributed systems, real‑time analytics platforms, and edge‑optimised AI. For professionals exploring opportunities on www.EdgeComputingJobs.co.uk , understanding which employers are growing, winning contracts, or securing investment is essential. This article highlights the new and high‑growth edge computing employers to watch in 2026, including UK startups, international innovators with a UK presence, and established companies shifting strategy toward edge.

How Many Edge Computing Tools Do You Need to Know to Get an Edge Computing Job?

If you’re trying to start or grow a career in edge computing, it can feel like you’re navigating a maze of tools, frameworks and platforms — Kubernetes, Docker, IoT frameworks, AWS Greengrass, Azure IoT Edge, OpenShift, TinyML toolkits, networking orchestration, real-time streaming frameworks, and on it goes. Scroll job boards and community forums and it’s easy to conclude that unless you master every buzzword imaginable, you’ll never get a job. Here’s the honest truth most edge computing hiring managers won’t necessarily say out loud: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every edge computing tool — they hire you because you can solve real system problems using the tools you know. Tools matter, yes — but only when they support clear outcomes: reliable systems, performance at scale, secure edge deployments and real business value. So how many edge computing tools do you actually need to know to secure a job? For most edge computing roles, the answer is fewer than you think — and a lot clearer when sorted by fundamentals and roles. This guide shows you what matters, what doesn’t, and how to focus your time wisely so you come across as capable, confident and employable.

What Hiring Managers Look for First in Edge Computing Job Applications (UK Guide)

In today’s fast-evolving tech landscape, edge computing is one of the most sought-after fields — blending distributed systems, embedded systems, networking, cloud, IoT, data and real-time processing. But that also means hiring managers are highly selective. They scan applications fast and look for signals of relevance, impact, technical depth and real-world delivery long before they read every line. This guide demystifies what hiring managers in edge computing look for first in your application — so you can tailor your CV, portfolio and cover letter to jump out of the stack. Whether you’re targeting edge systems roles, embedded IoT edge jobs, edge-native data roles, edge platform engineering or edge-AI positions, this checklist will help you position your experience in a way hiring managers can trust immediately.
