About the role

This role sits at the heart of Diageo’s vibrant Leven packaging site, one of our most dynamic global hubs. Here, we package an incredible portfolio of Scotch malt whiskies, white spirits, and ready‑to‑drink favourites that reach over 170 countries. Leven is not just a key manufacturing site within the Scotch supply category, it’s a place where innovation, collaboration, and world‑class craftsmanship come to life every day.


Serving as a Production Engineer focused on mechanical systems, you’ll be a driving force behind the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of our mechanical assets. Your expertise will keep our lines running smoothly, your curiosity will spark meaningful improvements, and your influence will help shape a more resilient and efficient future for the site.


What you’ll be leading and contributing to:

  • Collaborating across teams: Partner with operations, CAPEX, and other maintenance groups to elevate performance, unlock improvements, and champion multi-functional success.
  • Delivering flawless maintenance: Collaborate with operational teams to plan and review mandatory and requested maintenance tasks. Complete these activities with minimal disruption and ensure parts are available.
  • Enhancing asset performance: Create, implement, and refine maintenance programs that help our equipment run at its very best, empowering teams and optimising utilisation.
  • Responding with confidence: Jump into action when plant issues arise, tackling breakdowns with a calm, solutions‑focused attitude to minimise downtime and keep momentum on track.
  • Sharing insights: Use SAP to report maintenance outcomes and contribute to the sharing of guidelines, helping to strengthen knowledge and capability across the site.
  • Championing safety and quality: Uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and quality, leading by example and ensuring every action reflects our values and our commitment to excellence.

Shifts

Dayshift 8am - 16:45, Fri 8am - 1pm


Nightshift 22:00 - 8am


Backshift - 14:00 - 22:30, Fri 11am - 5pm


About you

We’re looking for someone who shows initiative, contributes fresh ideas, and feels empowered to support and shape our current ways of working with positivity and care.


Key Skills & Experience

  • Relevant qualifications with clear, proven knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and environmental risk principles
  • Experience within a production or FMCG environment (preferred though not mandatory)
  • A collaborative team player who can also make confident, effective decisions
  • Someone who enjoys solving problems and thrives in dynamic environments
  • A natural innovator who brings forward new ideas, champions improvements, and is motivated by making a meaningful difference to manufacturing excellence

Desirable Skills & Experience

(Preferable but not essential)



  • Fabrication and welding
  • Machining experience
  • IOSH or similar safety qualifications
  • Packaging or bottling hall background
