Mechanical Technician / Laboratory Technician (Contract)


Field-Based (UK Wide).


£380 per day.


Ad Hoc / Project-Based Work - Open to LTD Contractors.


We are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Mechanical Technician / Lab Technician to support a growing engineering services business delivering specialist maintenance and project work into laboratory, pharmaceutical and medical environments.


This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled contractor who enjoys varied, project‑based work and is confident working across different client sites and technical environments.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Planned maintenance on general laboratory equipment
  • Mechanical strip‑down and reassembly of equipment
  • Assisting with calibration activities (including temperature, pressure, weight, humidity and CO₂)
  • Supporting UKAS‑accredited calibration and temperature mapping projects
  • Lab relocation work – decommissioning, moving and recommissioning equipment
  • Moving and installing laboratory infrastructure such as fume cabinets
  • Working alongside engineering teams to deliver projects safely and efficiently

Requirements

  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering / technician roles
  • Experience working within laboratory, pharmaceutical or medical environments (highly desirable)
  • Confident with mechanical strip‑down, assembly and equipment handling
  • Comfortable working on‑site and travelling to different locations
  • Ability to work independently on ad hoc project work
  • Strong awareness of health & safety in technical environments
