MacArthur Recruitment are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who thrives on turning concepts into engineered reality. Nuclear, heavy engineering, regulated industries sector. You will need to be able to gain security clearance for nuclear sites eg P4, SC, BPSS.

Overview of the role of Mechanical Engineer :
  • Develop concepts into manufacturable mechanical designs
  • Interpretation of design requirements from initial customer concept through to manufacture
  • Produce and maintain key engineering documents—risk assessments, calculations, reports, drawings, and schematics
  • Work with cross functional teams to integrate systems effectively
  • Liaise with clients, regulators, and suppliers to maintain compliance
  • Contribute to design reviews and technical meetings and provide technical support during installation, commissioning and maintenance phases
  • Create accurate drawings and specifications for manufacturing and installation
  • Demonstrate proficiency in interoperating and analysing engineering drawings, extracting critical information, identifying design requirements and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Your experience for the role of Mechanical Engineer :
  • HNC, HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Proficient in the use of CAD Software (Inventor) and generally IT proficient
  • Mechanical Design within the Nuclear Industry, heavy engineering or similar
  • Technical writing and documentation
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem solving capabilities
  • Effective teamwork and communication in multi-disciplinary environments
  • Ability to obtain security clearance for nuclear sites (eg P4, SC, BPSS)
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and practices
  • Experience with calculations
