Hydraulic/Mechanical Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and organised Hydraulics/Mechanical Engineering Manager to oversee and coordinate contractual agreements within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional with a background in management, negotiation, hands on hydraulic/mechanical project execution and project oversight to contribute to our ongoing success.


Duties

  • Develop, review, and negotiate contracts to ensure favourable terms and compliance with legal standards.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of contracts from initiation through to completion, including amendments and renewals.
  • Coordinate with project teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure contractual obligations are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Utilise Microsoft Project and other project management tools to plan, monitor, and report on contract progress.
  • Lead negotiations with clients and suppliers to secure advantageous terms while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Oversee project timelines using organisational skills and time management techniques to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to contractual agreements and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within contract processes to optimise efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven sub-contract experience in management and or contract administration
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven managerial capabilities managing project timescales
  • Proven managerial experience overseeing and managing hydraulic/mechanical works/staff
  • Excellent organisational skills coupled with effective time management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as specialised tools such as Microsoft Project.
  • Leadership qualities demonstrated through previous roles involving team coordination or supervision.
  • Exceptional communication skills for clear articulation of contractual terms and negotiations.
  • Valid driving licence for travel between sites or client meetings as required.
  • Good IT literacy with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
