Highly Specialist Physiotherapist In-Patient Orthopaedics

Band 7 Highly Specialist Physiotherapist Orthopaedics (maternity cover)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the North Cumbria Physiotherapy team with a senior clinical post at the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. You will be team lead for in-patient orthopaedic physiotherapy supporting a team of physiotherapists to deliver high quality treatment to patients at The Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.
Main duties of the job
Provide highly specialist physiotherapy services to patients with orthopaedic conditions both trauma and elective in the in-patient wards and day surgery suite. Developing and monitoring a high quality physiotherapy service, coordinating and providing physiotherapeutic assessment and treatment to patients with a range of orthopaedic conditions.
You will work closely with the in-patient MDT and with out-patient musculoskeletal services to enable high quality treatment and rehabilitation, and facilitate movement through the orthopaedic pathways.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Physiotherapy degree or equivalent.
- State registration with the HCPC.
- Leadership/management training.
- Evidence of accredited post-graduate training and CPD relevant to the management of orthopaedic conditions.
- MSc level study related to orthopaedic specialism.
Knowledge and Experience
- Recent significant experience of working at band 6 level or above in orthopaedics.
- Supervision and education of staff/students.
- Use of research skills for developing service or improving practice.
- Deputising for team leader.
- Evidence of using audit tools. Clinical audit and implementation of findings.
- Working independently.
- Central policy related to orthopaedics and rehabilitation.
- National guidelines relating to specialist area.
