Highly Specialist Childrens Physiotherapist

We havean exciting opportunity for a Highly Specialist Childrens Physiotherapist tojoin Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust. Yourrole will include delivering highly specialist interventions and offering clearguidance to parents, carers and professionals involved in the childs care. Youwill also provide clinical support to physiotherapy colleagues by sharingexpertise, delivering training, offering second opinions and undertaking jointsessions when required. In addition, you will play an active role in reviewingand refining clinical policies and procedures within your specialist area toensure best practice and consistency in service delivery.


Main duties of the job

As aSpecialist Childrens Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for carrying outdetailed assessments and creating tailored, evidence-based physiotherapyprogrammes to meet each childs individual needs. You will be responsible for the delivery of ahigh-quality, child-centred physiotherapy service, working autonomously whiledemonstrating strong clinical leadership and effective caseload management. Youare expected to take a lead on designated aspects of the service, workingcollaboratively with Clinical Quality Leads, Team Leads and fellow HighlySpecialist Therapists to support innovation, service development and excellencein care for children and young people.

Job responsibilities

  • To contribute to the creation and implementation of new approaches thatenhance family engagement and support collaborative working with parents.
  • To participate actively in multidisciplinary and multi-agency meetings,offering specialist input to support coordinated care planning.
  • To work collaboratively with external agencies and educational settings,maintaining effective communication pathways to meet shared objectives forchildren and young people.
  • To investigate and respond to formal and informal complaints according toHCT policy, working in conjunction with Line Manager, and participate in peersupport and shared learning with other team members.
  • To ensure data is collected and reported to the Service Manager, ClinicalQuality Leads and Team Leads within agreed timeframe such as CQC evidence,patient experience feedback, outcomes etc.
  • To provide information about specific clients to other health serviceprofessionals and professionals in other agencies, with parental consent and inaccordance with data protection regulations.

Qualifications

  • HCPC-registered OT/PT with professional membership
  • Experience supervising students or junior staff and knowledge of safeguarding/sector policies
  • Competent with electronic patient records
  • UK driving licence with car
