We have an opportunity for an Engineering Test Technician to join our Elster Water Metering team in Luton. You will support our ongoing NPI process developing various water meters (Volumetric, Solid State Electronic, Woltmann type bulk, single and multijet).

Responsibilities

  • Part of Product validation team Testing and assisting development of water meter products.
  • Using and maintaining test equipment and lab facilities.
  • Testing and producing reports of results and presenting the results to the engineering team.
  • Data analysis and review of results. Maintaining and adhering to HSE requirements.
  • Training and assisting other members of the team.

Key skills and qualifications

  • To have completed an Apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline or extensive practical experience alongside a higher education in an engineering discipline. An understanding and experience of testing techniques ideally within a fluid metering environment.
  • Experience of Machine maintenance and repair. Competent in the use of standard hand and power tools. Knowledge of HSE requirements and safe working practices (COSHH, risk assessments etc.).
  • A good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Good analytical thinking, troubleshooting & problem-solving skills, coupled with the drive to learn.
  • A good level of knowledge in general engineering and systems to assist and advise on the development of products. Knowledge and experience of 6 sigma methodologies would be an advantage.
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work independently without supervision. Ability to work together with different cross-functional & delivery teams.
