Mechanical Design Engineering Opportunities (All Levels)

Brackley, UK

Every component of a Formula 1 car represents thousands of hours of design thinking, iteration, and engineering craft. Before a part reaches the manufacturing shop floor, let alone the race car, it begins life in our Mechanical Design group: a team dedicated to creating robust, lightweight, high performance solutions that help unlock every fraction of a second.

If you’re passionate about solving complex mechanical problems, thrive in a fast paced engineering environment, and are motivated by the idea of contributing to world leading race car design, we invite you to join our Mechanical Design Engineering Talent Pool.

What Future Opportunities May Involve

By registering your interest, you’ll be considered for roles across multiple seniority levels. Typical responsibilities may include:

  • Designing components and systems across both metallic and composite domains, from concept to car integration

  • Generating high quality 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings

  • Supporting or leading test and validation programmes to ensure performance and reliability

  • Managing reliability of assigned systems throughout their lifecycle and supporting trackside or rig based investigations

  • Collaborating closely with internal and external manufacturing teams to deliver fully integrated, performance optimised designs

  • Applying first principles thinking, materials knowledge, and sound engineering judgement to create efficient and innovative solutions

  • At senior/lead levels: driving design direction, mentoring engineers, influencing system architecture, and leading large or complex projects

What We Typically Look For

Successful candidates for these roles often bring:

For Engineers

  • A degree in mechanical, automotive, aeronautical engineering, or similar (2:1 minimum)

  • Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing techniques

  • Experience in 3D CAD (e.g., CATIA V5/3DX) and associated surfacing/solid modelling

  • Understanding of design principles, structural integrity and engineering calculations

  • Familiarity with FEA tools and methodologies (experience with CATIA V5/3DX FEA advantageous)

  • Practical problem solving skills and an enthusiasm for high performance engineering environments

For Senior Engineers

  • Proven delivery of mechanical design projects from concept through to real world application

  • Experience improving design workflows, modelling efficiency, or validation methods

  • Strong analytical skills, capable of diagnosing design or test issues and driving to a resolution

  • Broader systems understanding, ideally with exposure to reliability engineering, materials development, or advanced analysis

  • Ability to mentor junior colleagues and influence technical decisions within a project area

For Lead Engineers

  • Ownership of major design areas, projects, or systems across the car

  • Experience defining technical direction, challenging existing approaches, and driving design strategy

  • Leadership in cross functional collaboration, ensuring alignment between design, manufacturing, test, and trackside groups

  • Ability to mentor and grow capability within the team

  • Deep understanding of F1level mechanical systems, performance trade offs, and integrated design philosophies

  • Across all levels, we value engineers who combine creativity with discipline, enjoy pushing boundaries, and thrive in an environment where precision, pace, and collaboration are essential.

Why Join the Talent Pool?

By registering your interest, you’ll:

  • Be among the first to hear about upcoming positions across engineering levels

New Edge Computing Employers to Watch in 2026: UK and Global Companies Shaping Edge Innovation

Edge computing is transforming how data is processed by bringing compute power closer to the source of generation. With the proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT), real‑time analytics, autonomous systems, and latency‑sensitive applications, edge computing has moved from a niche discipline to a core component of digital infrastructure. In 2026, organisations that specialise in or heavily invest in edge computing are expanding their teams to build distributed systems, real‑time analytics platforms, and edge‑optimised AI. For professionals exploring opportunities on www.EdgeComputingJobs.co.uk , understanding which employers are growing, winning contracts, or securing investment is essential. This article highlights the new and high‑growth edge computing employers to watch in 2026, including UK startups, international innovators with a UK presence, and established companies shifting strategy toward edge.

How Many Edge Computing Tools Do You Need to Know to Get an Edge Computing Job?

If you’re trying to start or grow a career in edge computing, it can feel like you’re navigating a maze of tools, frameworks and platforms — Kubernetes, Docker, IoT frameworks, AWS Greengrass, Azure IoT Edge, OpenShift, TinyML toolkits, networking orchestration, real-time streaming frameworks, and on it goes. Scroll job boards and community forums and it’s easy to conclude that unless you master every buzzword imaginable, you’ll never get a job. Here’s the honest truth most edge computing hiring managers won’t necessarily say out loud: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every edge computing tool — they hire you because you can solve real system problems using the tools you know. Tools matter, yes — but only when they support clear outcomes: reliable systems, performance at scale, secure edge deployments and real business value. So how many edge computing tools do you actually need to know to secure a job? For most edge computing roles, the answer is fewer than you think — and a lot clearer when sorted by fundamentals and roles. This guide shows you what matters, what doesn’t, and how to focus your time wisely so you come across as capable, confident and employable.

What Hiring Managers Look for First in Edge Computing Job Applications (UK Guide)

In today’s fast-evolving tech landscape, edge computing is one of the most sought-after fields — blending distributed systems, embedded systems, networking, cloud, IoT, data and real-time processing. But that also means hiring managers are highly selective. They scan applications fast and look for signals of relevance, impact, technical depth and real-world delivery long before they read every line. This guide demystifies what hiring managers in edge computing look for first in your application — so you can tailor your CV, portfolio and cover letter to jump out of the stack. Whether you’re targeting edge systems roles, embedded IoT edge jobs, edge-native data roles, edge platform engineering or edge-AI positions, this checklist will help you position your experience in a way hiring managers can trust immediately.
