Job summary

We need a skilled and motivated Physiotherapist to join the therapy team working to rehabilitate patients with Spinal Cord Injury in Salisbury. The Centre provides in‑patient rehabilitation for people with new Spinal Cord Injuries in the South West region of the United Kingdom.


Main duties of the job

You will work with all levels of Spinal Cord Injuries patients, on a 1:1 basis and in group settings, to provide comprehensive physiotherapy rehabilitation that meets patients’ individual needs. This will include high level Spinal Cord Injuries and patients who require long term ventilation.


Experience and Skills

Extensive experience of working with spinal cord injuries (including ventilated patients), ideally at a senior level, sound respiratory skills and experience of service and staff development are essential.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
  • Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy
  • Registered with HCPC

Qualifications Desirable
  • Relevant post‑graduate qualifications

Experience Essential
  • Able to demonstrate evidence of extensive work at Band 5 or above within Spinal Cord Injuries or other relevant specialty

Experience Desirable
  • Experience of deputising for senior therapists/team lead.

Knowledge & Skills Essential
  • Evidence of recent post registration training relevant to Spinal Cord Injury
  • Ability to assess and treat patients in clinical field with complex needs and formulate appropriate treatment plans and solutions
  • Evidence of successful working within a multi-disciplinary team

Knowledge & Skills Desirable
  • Able to take a lead role in audits and improvement projects
