Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Physiotherapist to join the Frailty Team at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. Our team delivers Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments (CGA) to patients presenting with frailty in key front-door areas, including the Medical/Surgical Admissions Units, Emergency Department, Rapid Triage Unit and GP Assessment. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to be part of an innovative service, providing rapid multidimensional assessments and identifying appropriate care pathways to support patient flow. You will contribute to the ongoing development of the Physiotherapy role within the evolving Frailty Team.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Practitioners, and Clinical Frailty Practitioners, and must be flexible to cover a seven-day working rota. The Frailty Team operates from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 365 days a year, on a self-rostering basis.

Responsibilities
  • Provide rapid multidimensional assessments and identify appropriate care pathways to support patient flow.
  • Contribute to the development of the Physiotherapy role within the Frailty Team.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team and be flexible to cover a seven-day rota.
  • engage in clinical audits and quality improvement activities; supervise junior staff and students as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Significant inpatient experience, preferably at Band 6 level.
  • Strong interest in working with older adults, aligning with local and National Frailty Standards.
  • Experience in staff supervision and management is beneficial.
  • Will participate in regular supervision, TURAS appraisal, and opportunities for professional development.
