Salary: £22,182 – £26,275 per annum (pro‑rated for part‑time hours)


Job Summary

Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and management for adults with life‑limiting illnesses in an adult hospice setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct specialist physiotherapy assessments and design management programmes for complex palliative care patients.
  • Deliver one‑to‑one appointments and group sessions in ward, community and hospice settings.
  • Maintain accurate NHS/hippoc clinical records and use iCare.
  • Contribute to service development, audit, quality assurance and clinical governance.
  • Support and mentor physiotherapy students and other therapy staff.
  • Represent the physiotherapy team in multidisciplinary meetings and external networks.
  • Adopt professional and legal responsibilities, including confidentiality and data protection.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in physiotherapy.
  • Registered with the Healthcare Professionals Council (HCPC).
  • Evidence of CPD and relevant specialist education.
  • Registered Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (desirable).

Experience

  • Broad physiotherapy experience at band 6 level.
  • Experience managing complex palliative care patients.
  • Experience of community physiotherapy and teaching/facilitating students (desirable).
  • Understanding of risk management and clinical governance.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Excellent communication and professional rapport with patients and teams.
  • Ability to promote multi‑professional teamwork and provide education.
  • Proactive and flexible approach to workload and organisational change.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of NHS information systems.
  • Leadership, supervision and mentoring capabilities.
