Reading Intermediate Care – Senior Physiotherapist (Band 6)

Location – Reading Intermediate Care, 7‑9 Cremyll Road, Reading Berkshire RG1 8NQ


The post holder is a Senior Physiotherapist (band 6) who supports community reablement, the community Physio & Falls service and has the clinical skills, expertise and knowledge required.


Responsibilities

  • Complete the timely assessment and management of referrals with multiple co‑morbidities and complex rehabilitation needs.
  • Support triage of referrals for intermediate care services.
  • Provide equipment to promote independence and safety.
  • Hold a caseload and work autonomously.
  • Work flexibly to ensure urgent referrals are adequately managed.
  • Support colleagues in the delivery of compassionate, safe and structured care.
  • Provide guidance and appropriate delegation within the team.
  • Participate in service development and quality improvement.
  • Support the supervision of more junior members of staff, provision of education and clinical physiotherapy advice to staff/students in Intermediate Care.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Current understanding of intermediate care with experience of rehabilitation and hospital discharge.
  • Car driver with ability and readiness to be flexible within working day.
  • Skills and knowledge of supporting others and clinical leadership.
  • Motivated to participate in service development and support leadership of the team.
