Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

A well-established manufacturing business based in the Mildenhall area is seeking a Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join its Maintenance & Facilities team. This is a key, hands-on role supporting machinery, equipment, and facilities across three local sites.

This opportunity would suit an experienced mechanical engineer who enjoys fault-finding, continuous improvement, and working in a fast-paced production environment.

The Role

As Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of production machinery and site facilities. Full support and guidance will be provided to help the successful candidate develop further within the business.

Key responsibilities include:

* Supporting the maintenance of production machinery and ancillary equipment

* Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs

* Stripping down machinery to replace worn or broken components

* Completing and updating maintenance tasks using a CMMS / maintenance software

* Supporting visiting service engineers

* Maintaining facilities across all sites

* Acting as the main point of contact for external contractors

* Identifying improvement opportunities and potential cost-saving initiatives

* Assisting other areas of the business with maintenance support as required
