Senior Mechanical Engineer (Building Services)
Redhill, Surrey
The Opportunity
An established and award-winning Building Services consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team in Caterham.
This is an opportunity to work with a highly respected, multi-disciplinary engineering practice known for delivering innovative, low-carbon and sustainable design solutions across a wide range of sectors in the built environment.
The business has built a strong reputation through repeat clients and high-quality project delivery, with a clear focus on net zero carbon design, energy efficiency, and future-ready buildings.
The Role
You will play a key role in leading the mechanical (HVAC) design and delivery of projects from concept through to completion.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading mechanical design on a variety of building services projects
  • Managing projects from initial brief through to technical delivery and site stages
  • Producing and reviewing calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings
  • Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, public health, and sustainability specialists
  • Attending client and design team meetings, building strong working relationships
  • Monitoring project progress, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Supporting and mentoring junior engineers
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and sustainability targets

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
  • Strong HVAC design experience across multiple project stages
  • Working towards or already Chartered (CEng)
  • Good knowledge of UK regulations, standards, and sustainable design principles
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • Experience leading projects and mentoring junior staff
