Job Description

The Job Mission
This role supports the mechanical engineering delivery on one of the UK’s most ambitious nuclear programmes. You’ll ensure construction readiness, lead technical coordination, and drive engineering compliance.

This is a hybrid role, with 3 days on-site at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater. You’ll need to be within commutable distance—or be open to relocating, with financial support available to help with the move.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and mentor a team delivering mechanical construction work scopes
  • Define activity boundaries with subject matter experts and client teams
  • Own and update workpack documentation in line with project requirements
  • Drive timely delivery of documentation to support safe construction
  • Promote a proactive approach to health, safety, and environmental excellence
  • Ensure engineering works comply with nuclear site licence conditions
  • Coordinate site surveys and access routing for construction start-up
  • Support work authorisation and permitting systems across the project

My profile

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering
  • Recognised accreditation in project, construction, or engineering disciplines
  • Experience delivering projects in regulated sectors
  • Strong team leadership across disciplines and functions
  • Working knowledge of mechanical documentation and control systems
  • Familiarity with work authorisation and permit systems
  • Experience preparing mechanical workpacks on major infrastructure sites
  • Insight into Hinkley Point C or similar nuclear build projects
  • Background in site survey coordination and planning access routes
  • Strong problem-solving approach and flexibility on evolving projects
