About the Role

Due to continued growth and exciting new projects, we’re looking for a talented Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering Team in Reading. You’ll work alongside industry experts on projects spanning education, commercial, retail, industrial, leisure, and more. You’ll gain exposure to a variety of sectors and cultures, making every day unique.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering detailed mechanical designs as part of a collaborative project team
  • Working closely with structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors (both in-house and external)
  • Attending project and technical meetings to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Ensuring all designs and building systems comply with legislative and health & safety standards
  • Advising clients and architects on energy efficiency and sustainability, helping to reduce environmental impact
  • Designing site-specific equipment and overseeing the installation of building systems
  • Specifying maintenance and operating procedures for building services
  • Using specialist CAD and BIM (Revit) software to create innovative solutions

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree (or higher qualification) in Building Services or a related discipline
  • Significant experience in a similar mechanical design role
  • Chartered status (or working towards it) with a relevant institution is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues to clients and project teams
  • Ambition, a willingness to learn, and strong organisational skills
  • A passion for delivering high‑quality, sustainable engineering solutions
