Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Architect
Location: Hybrid - Birmingham or London and Home, with travel to client sites as required

The Infrastructure Architect will assist with or lead pre-sales, project delivery, and internal Architecture Practice initiatives. Due to the nature of our work, consultative skills are highly valued, as is the ability to converse with the development team about the intricacies that invariably arise during implementation.

This role involves a mix of working from home, office visits, and travel to client sites as required.

Key Responsibilities (Technology Agnostic)
Focus on delivering customer value by ensuring solutions meet business needs and drive desired outcomes.

Effectively choosing the correct solution components for the problem at hand by considering the available platforms, services and packages and their relative capabilities, strengths, weaknesses and costs when applied to the business needs.
Knowledge of Cybersecurity and compliance frameworks.
Continuously seek feedback from customers to improve solutions and ensure they deliver maximum value.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align solutions with customer expectations and business objectives.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure ongoing satisfaction and success.
Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing insights and recommendations to enhance their business processes and outcomes.
Support sales and marketing efforts by identifying and reviewing opportunities and adding differentiation to our messaging and brand.
Provide architectural guidance during solution design and ensure alignment with client strategies, principles, standards, and best practices.
Assist with the definition of requirements and translate them into a solution architecture.
Lead and work closely with development and operational support teams to refine requirements and ensure detailed designs align with the architecture.
Conduct research on technologies and approaches critical to the architecture.
Document and clearly communicate architectures using multiple models or views.
Lead Proof of Concept engagements and provide architecture and solution governance.Key Responsibilities (Technology)
Architect and deliver end-to-end infrastructure solutions across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP, VMware, OpenStack).
Lead cloud transformation initiatives, including IT-as-a-Service strategies, workload migrations, and application modernization.
Serve as a trusted advisor to C-level executives, partners, and internal teams, providing thought leadership and technical guidance.
Oversee security architecture, compliance, and risk management, including implementation of frameworks such as PCI DSS, SOX, ISO 27001, and cloud-native security controls.
Drive DevOps and automation practices using tools like Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, and cloud management platforms.
Manage and optimize virtual desktop infrastructure (Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop) and enterprise collaboration tools (M365, O365, Intune).
Lead technical workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder engagements to ensure successful adoption of new technologies.
Conduct technical audits, performance tuning, and continuous improvement of infrastructure services.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT solutions with business objectives and regulatory requirements.Skill and Experience 
Extensive experience as an Infrastructure, Cloud, and Security Architect in Tier 1 enterprises and public sector environments.
Proven track record in designing and implementing cloud, hybrid, and on-premises solutions, including large-scale migrations and modernization projects.
Deep knowledge of cloud security, compliance, and governance (Azure Security, Sentinel, Defender, Priva, Purview, IAM, MFA, RBAC).
Expertise in DevOps, automation, and CI/CD pipelines across multiple platforms.
Strong background in virtualization, storage, networking, and database technologies (VMware, NetApp, Citrix, Oracle, SQL, Hadoop).
Demonstrated leadership in project delivery, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging C-level stakeholders and leading technical workshops.Personal Characteristics
