Overview

We are looking for an Engineer with broad experience.


The position is all about early stage concepts and coming up with innovative ideas and solutions. You’ll be taking ideas from various sources and coming up with original solutions and it would suit someone with a broad background that has seen a few things and knows how to turn an idea into a product.


It wouldn't suit auto/consumer/high vol industry backgrounds where the focus can be on reducing costs - this is the opposite of that.


Responsibilities

The role will involve discussions with customers, suppliers, internal engineers, managers, directors etc so you must be able to present ideas, answer questions & collaborate as some of the solutions will be integration work with customers and other partners.


It would also suit someone with a good understanding of materials, tolerances, possibly gearing/motors exp, mechanisms etc.


Qualifications & Requirements

The client is interested in people who like to tinker at the weekend so will often look at hobbies on the cv as this person needs to be hands on. He'd ideally like someone local (near Farnborough) and onsite with occasional remote working.


The company develop products for several industry sectors, including some defence work. Security clearance may be a requirement.
