ABOUT THE ROLE

M-Sport UK is at the forefront of global motorsport. From rally stages to sand dunes, we design and build vehicles that compete- and win – at the highest levels. With world championship titles and decades of innovation behind us, we’re now looking for a Senior Design Engineer (Mechanical) to join our elite engineering team.


Reporting to the Chief Designer, the role will involve working on some of our primary whole-car design projects. This is your chance to work in a high-performance environment where precision, creativity, and speed are everything.


Role and responsibilities include:

  • Design advanced models and drawings of a variety of car components and chassis design.
  • Verification of designs through own calculations, analysis and CAE.
  • Ensuring the success of the design from inception through to production.
  • Liaise with the Chief Designer and Engineers to improve and confirm the design to achieve maximum car performance, reliability and durability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, build, and procurement.
  • Use theoretical knowledge of material science and mechanical engineering to resolve difficult problems.
  • Assist the Chief Designer in supporting and mentoring Junior Designers.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a self-motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. The ideal candidate will be:



  • Educated to MEng or BEng degree level in Motorsport, Automotive or Mechanical Engineering, and have strong knowledge of 3D CAD, preferably CATIA V5.
  • Solid understanding the latest manufacturing techniques and materials, and you should have meticulous attention to detail and a practical approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship and team building skills, and share our determination to deliver the very best results.
  • Pride yourself on your attention to detail and be capable of delivering a high standard of performance and quality whilst working to strict deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.

Preferred Experience:

  • At least 5+ years of experience in similar environment working in a competitive industry.
  • Previous experience of structures and mechanisms, specifically suspension, brakes, steering and chassis structure.
