About The Role

You will join an enthusiastic and friendly team of 17 clinical scientists, 12 dosimetrists, 8 engineers, a quality manager, 3 STP trainees and 2 apprentice engineers at Rosemere Cancer Centre. The department uses eight clinical Elekta linacs, two Philips Big Bore CT scanners, Pinnacle, Raystation and the upcoming ElektaOne planning system, with Vision RT surface‑guided technology and Sun Nuclear DoseCHECK for VMAT plan verification.


Key Responsibilities

To produce and check routine and complex radiotherapy treatment plans in accordance with agreed local and national standards and evidence‑based guidelines.



  • Perform quality assurance on the treatment planning computer based on departmental practice.
  • Be involved in the commissioning of radiotherapy treatment‑planning equipment and software upgrades, liaising with all involved parties to coordinate the required activities.
  • Perform highly accurate routine and non‑routine quality‑control checks of the radiotherapy equipment to ensure it remains within clinically acceptable tolerances.
  • Contribute to the commissioning of dosimetry, radiotherapy treatment delivery and pre‑treatment equipment and software upgrades, liaising with all involved parties to coordinate the required activities.

Required Qualifications

  • HCPC‑registered clinical scientist with experience in radiotherapy physics.
  • Experienced, highly skilled and motivated in the field.
  • Applicants close to registration will be considered for appointment at a lower band until registration is achieved.
