Process Technician – Mechanic (Mechanical Process Technician) at Southern Water.


Location: Otterbourne (will need to travel across multiple sites and hold a full driving licence).


Contract: Permanent, 38 hours per week.


Salary: £36,954.02 to £44,344.09 per annum (depending on skills and experience).


Closing Date: 2025-11-03.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair water supply works to ensure environmental, quality, and customer service standards.
  • Use mechanical knowledge to operate and improve processes, reduce pollution, and keep sites operational.
  • Innovate and introduce solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal and external contractors, providing technical expertise.
  • Ensure compliance with H&S legislation and achieve budgetary targets.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 NVQ in Mechanical (required).
  • Understanding of water supply works operation and water treatment processes.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to implement solutions or escalating as required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Resilience and adaptability to a changing environment.

Additional Requirements

  • Commitment to standby (additional payments and overtime possible, up to £10,000 per year).
