We are seeking a skilled Plumbing/Mechanical Multiskilled Technician to deliver high‑quality mechanical, plumbing, and building services maintenance at the client’s site. This role focuses on fault‑finding, repairs, installation, and ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently.


Job Description

You will work as part of a professional maintenance team, providing reliable support to maintain critical building services. The position requires strong technical ability, proactive problem‑solving, and a commitment to delivering a world‑class service.


Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, 08:00–16:00, working 5 days out of 7 (usually Monday to Friday). Participation in a 1 in 4 on‑call rota is required. Overtime paid at up to x1.5 and x2.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled inspections, planned preventative maintenance (PPMs), corrective maintenance, repairs, testing, and troubleshooting on mechanical equipment.
  • Diagnose faults by observing systems in operation, dismantling components, inspecting parts, and recalibrating where required.
  • Test, calibrate, and verify the operation of mechanical systems using appropriate tools and instruments.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and periodic maintenance tasks within agreed schedules.
  • Undertake training and potentially act as a Competent Person/Authorised Person within HTM disciplines.
  • Carry out contractor control duties, including supervising contractors and issuing Permits to Work.
  • Provide mechanical on‑call cover as part of a 24/7 rota and attend emergency callouts within required timeframes.
  • Support installation, upgrade, and improvement works on building services mechanical systems.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Time‑served City & Guilds apprenticeship in mechanical, plumbing, or building services engineering.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent qualification).
  • Commercial plumbing experience.
  • Strong mechanical maintenance skills, including fault‑finding, installation, and testing.
  • Experience with HVAC, water systems, medical gas, and BMS (training can be provided).
  • Background in FM or building services within commercial environments.
  • Full UK driving licence is required.
