Overview

Skilled Plumbing / Mechanical Engineer to join our established client in Stoke, ST4. You’ll carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the site, ensuring our water, heating, drainage, and mechanical systems remain safe, reliable, and fully compliant.

Monday to Friday – 08:00am to 16:30pm

Pay rate: £19.22 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance on plumbing, heating, and mechanical systems in line with statutory and HTM requirements.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance requests including leaks, blockages, valve failures, and temperature issues
  • Maintain hot and cold water systems including TMVs, calorifiers, expansion vessels, and flushing regimes
  • Support Legionella control measures through monitoring, testing, and record‑keeping
  • Inspect, repair, and replace pipework, sanitary ware, pumps, valves, and mechanical components
  • Maintain heating and ventilation plant including radiators, fan coil units, AHUs, and mechanical controls
  • Work in accordance with HTMs, HBNs, and statutory regulations
  • Ensure all works are completed safely following risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records for audit and compliance
What you need
  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in plumbing or mechanical, heating & ventilation or equivalent
  • Knowledge of building maintenance
  • Experience in commercial or healthcare environments preferred
  • Preferred Knowledge of Legionella control measures and water hygiene standards
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
