An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapy Assistant to work within our Acute Stroke service at Eastbourne District General Hospital.


As part of this role you will work with a team of Physiotherapists providing a high level of acute rehabilitation to the patients of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust; including Neurological Conditions, Rehabilitation on Critical Care and patients repatriated from Major Trauma Centres.


As part of the Physiotherapy department you will be joining a big supportive team passionate about caring for the residents of East Sussex. You will have the opportunity to attend an in-service training programme and complete supervision sessions with your line manager.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to work alongside the Physiotherapists and also autonomously carrying out exercise programmes, maintenance programmes and rehabilitation sessions planned by a Physiotherapist.


You will be responsible for completing data inputting and assisting with the ordering of equipment through the Millbrook system to ensure timely discharge for patient's across the trust.

Person Specification
Qualifications

  • GCSE grade 4 or GCSE C and above
  • Level 2 functional skills or health care support worker apprenticeship / NVQ level 2 in relevant subject
  • Level 3 apprenticeship for example senior health care support worker or similar and / or NVQ level 3 in relevant subject or equivalent level of knowledge and experience

Experience

  • Experience in health or social care settings such as employment, work experience volunteering or placements
  • Demonstrate the values of the NHS and commitment to personal and professional development

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.


£24,937 to £26,598 a yearper annum, pro rata
