Job Overview

We have the opportunity to recruit an experienced physiotherapist to our neuroscience physiotherapy team as co‑team lead. This role is available as a secondment or fixed‑term contract until February 2027.


This exciting opportunity will enable you to work across the neuroscience wards with patients with a diverse range of neurological conditions. You will provide highly specialised respiratory care and neuro‑rehabilitation to the neuro caseload, including neuro‑oncology, neurology, neurosurgery and neuro‑trauma.


You will have access to well‑equipped gym areas and hydrotherapy facilities, and we offer flexible working patterns (where possible) and actively support the ongoing development of our team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide highly specialised respiratory and neuro‑rehabilitative physiotherapy to the neuroscience wards, including neuro‑oncology, neurology, neurosurgery and neuro‑trauma.
  • Support and work alongside other members of the neurosciences physiotherapy team and ensure delivery of the highest possible standard of service.
  • Collaborate with the NCCU clinical specialist to ensure effective two‑way communication and mutual support.
  • Lead the team in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the physiotherapy service on a day‑to‑day basis.
  • Be an integral part of the highly specialised neuroscience and multidisciplinary team, including consultants, specialist nurses and specialist physiotherapists.
  • Develop a long‑term vision for the neuroscience physiotherapy team and shape the service in a way that reflects that vision.

Qualifications & Eligibility

Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full‑time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa. Therefore, if you are a Student visa holder, we will not be able to offer you a full‑time permanent contract unless you have:



  • applied for a Graduate visa,
  • or have successfully completed your course and applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of your employment,
  • or the Trust has agreed that they will sponsor you as a Skilled Worker and you will complete your studies within 3 months of the anticipated start date of employment.

Internal applicants on permanent contracts can apply for this post as a secondment or fixed‑term contract. For secondments, you must have the approval of your line manager before applying.
