Multi-Skilled Maintenance Craftsperson (Mechanical bias)

Are you a skilled mechanical engineer looking to make a real difference in a healthcare setting? Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a proactive and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Craftsperson to join our dedicated Estates & Facilities team.

This role offers a Recruitment and Retention Payment of £3500 per year.

Main duties of the job
  • Delivering front-line maintenance, breakdown response, and planned preventative tasks across the hospital estate.
  • Carrying out mechanical repairs, minor improvements, and capital works.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health Technical Memorandums (HTMs) and Trust safety standards.
  • Participating in the on-call rota to respond to emergency repairs outside normal hours.
  • Supporting statutory compliance through inspections, commissioning tests, and documentation.
  • Supervising contractors and liaising with specialist maintenance providers.
