The Opportunity

We are seeking an ambitious and capable Mechanical Services Project Engineer to join our growing team in the West Midlands. This position would suit an experienced professional who thrives in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment and is looking to progress into a pivotal role within a small senior team.


The Role

The role combines practical mechanical pipework knowledge with project management and commercial responsibility. You will be involved from initial client discussions and estimation through to project delivery and final invoicing.


Key responsibilities include:



  • Managing industrial and commercial mechanical pipework projects from enquiry to completion
  • Preparing estimates and supporting cost planning
  • Assisting with partial design and technical input
  • Client liaison and attendance at site meetings
  • Planning and coordinating installation works
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Supporting commercial close‑out and final account processes

Although the role is primarily focused on estimation, planning and project oversight, a strong practical background in mechanical pipework installation is essential.


About You

  • Have proven experience in industrial/commercial mechanical pipework installations
  • Possess strong practical knowledge of installation methods and site practices
  • Be confident discussing installation and design solutions directly with clients
  • Be commercially aware and comfortable managing project budgets
  • Be self‑sufficient, organised and capable of working independently
  • Be ambitious and motivated to grow into a senior leadership position
