DPS is seeking to recruit a Mechanical Service Engineer, ideally with experience in Water/Wastewater or Field Service, to join our busy Service Division. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a driven and ambitious Mechanical Engineer to become part of a fastpaced, innovative and growing organisation.

The successful candidate will play a key role in leading mechanical activities within our Service & Repair Division. Responsibilities will include the servicing, repair and installation of mechanical equipment across a diverse range of sites, including municipal, industrial and wastewater treatment facilities. The role will also involve undertaking pump and control-related tasks for multiple clients across Northern Ireland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report to the Service Manager and provide daily updates on job progress.
  • Work with a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment and materials, including pumps and specialist water and wastewater equipment.
  • Collaborate with management and service coordinators to ensure effective job planning, preparation and on-site delivery.
  • Complete all jobrelated documentation and paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Support the DPS trainee programme by guiding and developing future Mechanical Engineers to a high standard.
  • Carry out all onsite activities to a high standard and in line with client expectations.
  • Engage with DPS customers and the supply chain in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Undertake site visits as required to assess customer needs and develop appropriate service or installation plans.
  • Maintain a high level of service quality and clear communication with customers at all times.
  • Ensure all service work is completed in full compliance with HSQE policies, procedures, and any sitespecific method statements and risk assessments.
  • Perform duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks or duties as required from time to time.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience in Water/Wastewater environments or Field Service roles is highly desirable.
  • Qualified Mechanical Engineer (or equivalent recognised qualification).
  • Strong experience working with pumps, motors and associated mechanical equipment is a significant advantage.
  • Willingness and ability to mentor and train junior employees and apprentices.
  • Excellent faultfinding and diagnostic skills with a methodical approach to problemsolving.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage workload effectively.
  • High attention to detail and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
