What will you be doing?

An exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on advanced energy systems in Loughborough. This role involves designing, modelling, and integrating mechanical assemblies, contributing to both prototype development and system layout. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering innovative solutions in complex, high-performance systems.


Your Main Responsibilities

  • Design and develop jigs, fixtures, and test rigs, supporting prototype builds
  • Create concept and detailed 3D models for mechanical components and assemblies
  • Plan and execute cable and piping routing within assemblies
  • Integrate multiple components into space-constrained systems, ensuring proper fit, functionality, and manufacturability
  • Ensure all designs comply with safety, functionality, and manufacturing requirements
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical and innovative mechanical solutions

Who are we looking for?

  • Strong mechanical design experience, preferably using SolidWorks
  • Experience with mechanical assemblies, layout design, and system integration

Qualifications

Experience, Skills And Qualifications Required



  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong mechanical design experience, preferably using SolidWorks

  • Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
