Your Role

In this role you will complete planned and reactive maintenance in a safe manner, ensuring the reliability, availability and safe performance of equipment. You will work to Safe Systems of Works for all activities, driving and delivering a safe working culture. Liaising with the Engineering Manager, you will report parts and materials needs promptly.

You will ensure effective and efficient management of reactive maintenance, with special attention to breakdowns during operation, attending and fixing breakdowns in a swift and safe manner. You will complete required training as and when required, demonstrating commitment to multi-skills activity where appropriate.

This role is classified as safety critical. Your duties in this role may include driving on site; working at height and/or in confined spaces; operating/driving plant; manual handling; lone working; night work. If successful in your application, you will be required to attend a pre-placement medical assessment to confirm your fitness for work in this role.

What you'll bring

You will have a strong Mechanical Engineering background, ideally on Container Handling equipment, alongside:

  • A good understanding of modern maintenance strategies i.e. RCM, FEMECA, CBM, TPM
  • Experience of Motors and Variable speed controllers is essential
  • Hold a minimum ONC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
  • Troubleshooting, fault finding and repair knowledge is key for this role
  • Full valid driving licence
