Job Description

The Job Mission
This is a hybrid role, requiring 3–5 days on-site at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater, with the remainder working remotely. We welcome candidates living within commuting distance and can provide a small relocation allowance for those moving closer to site.

You will join the Plant Configuration Team, with a focus on mechanical systems, ensuring that configuration data and processes remain accurate and reliable through design and construction. Your future team will rely on your ability to maintain compliance, resolve technical queries, and support the smooth progression of engineering and construction activities.

  • Act as the point of contact for plant configuration in mechanical systems.
  • Support configuration management standards across engineering and construction activities.
  • Track and document changes, redlines, and updates to technical information.
  • Coordinate reviews of design documents and drawings with engineering teams.
  • Contribute to resolving design queries and supporting cross-discipline coordination.
  • Maintain reference documentation lists and ensure accuracy following changes.
  • Assist with audits and assurance checks in your area of responsibility.
  • Provide clear technical data and updates to managers and stakeholders.
  • Liaise closely with construction teams to ensure design intent is maintained.
  • Champion best practice in configuration processes to support project success.

My profile

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience with configuration, design, or technical documentation processes
  • Strong attention to detail when handling technical data and drawings
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Confident communicator with engineering and construction teams
  • Experience in a regulated or highly technical environment
  • Knowledge of large industrial projects (energy, oil & gas, steel, manufacturing)
  • Familiarity with design change or construction change management processes
  • Awareness of quality management or technical audit practices
