We are seeking passionate, dynamic, and forward‑thinking Locum Consultant Cardiothoracic Anaesthetists to join our expanding team. Position

Locum Consultant Cardiothoracic Anaesthetists, ideally with an interest in cardiology procedures. Fixed‑term contracts, ideal for those seeking flexibility and the chance to work in a vibrant, supportive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Providing perioperative TOE services
  • Providing evidence‑based care
  • Working clinically in cardiothoracic critical care
  • Working collaboratively with a variety of colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Covering on‑call across our cardiothoracic theatres, cardiac critical care and cardiology intervention services – ideally you should live within 10 miles of Basildon Hospital, or 30 minutes travelling time
  • Developing your interests and specialisation within cardiothoracic anaesthesia & Critical Care including active participation in research programmes
Qualifications
  • GMC registered, with FRCA (or equivalent)
  • Experience in cardiothoracic anaesthesia and critical care
  • Commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork, teaching, and research
  • Enthusiasm for service development and innovation
  • For the substantive post: a keen interest in thoracic anaesthesia is highly desirable
