About Us

The University of East London is at the forefront of preparing highly skilled professionals for the local and regional workforce. Within the School of Health, Sport and Bioscience, the Allied Health course provision currently includes Physiotherapy, Podiatry, and Occupational Therapy, with plans for future expansion.

A key aim of the department is to promote engagement in research and scholarship that contributes meaningfully to the professional knowledge base of Allied Health disciplines.

About the Job

Acting as a module leader where appropriate, the post holder will work closely with experienced academic colleagues and an established course team to deliver high-quality education and student support.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, the post holder will undertake roles such as academic advising and will support students and apprentices across a range of modules and courses. As a member of the academic team, the post holder will also contribute to the development of the professional, academic, research, and scholarly profile of Physiotherapy and Allied Health within the School, the wider University, and the local community.

The successful candidate must be a HCPC-registered Physiotherapist. Previous teaching experience is desirable but not essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the development, delivery, and assessment of the Physiotherapy programme within the School of Health, Sport and Bioscience, including the creation of new learning materials.
  • Using excellent communication and organisational skills to ensure high-quality learning experiences and effective organisation of module content.
  • Working collaboratively with course teams, clinical practice staff, service users, and external partners to deliver modules and courses that meet the needs of service users and their families.
  • Supporting the enhancement of interprofessional collaboration and events within Allied Health and across the wider School.
  • Engaging with partner NHS Trusts and other service providers, and supporting learners, placement facilitators, mentors, and managers as part of the link lecturing team.

About You

You will be a motivated and committed Physiotherapist with a strong interest in education, student development, and collaborative working. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a willingness to contribute to curriculum development, and the ability to work effectively within an academic and practice-focused environment. An interest in research, scholarship, and professional development within Allied Health education is highly desirable.

New Edge Computing Employers to Watch in 2026: UK and Global Companies Shaping Edge Innovation

Edge computing is transforming how data is processed by bringing compute power closer to the source of generation. With the proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT), real‑time analytics, autonomous systems, and latency‑sensitive applications, edge computing has moved from a niche discipline to a core component of digital infrastructure. In 2026, organisations that specialise in or heavily invest in edge computing are expanding their teams to build distributed systems, real‑time analytics platforms, and edge‑optimised AI. For professionals exploring opportunities on www.EdgeComputingJobs.co.uk , understanding which employers are growing, winning contracts, or securing investment is essential. This article highlights the new and high‑growth edge computing employers to watch in 2026, including UK startups, international innovators with a UK presence, and established companies shifting strategy toward edge.

How Many Edge Computing Tools Do You Need to Know to Get an Edge Computing Job?

If you’re trying to start or grow a career in edge computing, it can feel like you’re navigating a maze of tools, frameworks and platforms — Kubernetes, Docker, IoT frameworks, AWS Greengrass, Azure IoT Edge, OpenShift, TinyML toolkits, networking orchestration, real-time streaming frameworks, and on it goes. Scroll job boards and community forums and it’s easy to conclude that unless you master every buzzword imaginable, you’ll never get a job. Here’s the honest truth most edge computing hiring managers won’t necessarily say out loud: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every edge computing tool — they hire you because you can solve real system problems using the tools you know. Tools matter, yes — but only when they support clear outcomes: reliable systems, performance at scale, secure edge deployments and real business value. So how many edge computing tools do you actually need to know to secure a job? For most edge computing roles, the answer is fewer than you think — and a lot clearer when sorted by fundamentals and roles. This guide shows you what matters, what doesn’t, and how to focus your time wisely so you come across as capable, confident and employable.

What Hiring Managers Look for First in Edge Computing Job Applications (UK Guide)

In today’s fast-evolving tech landscape, edge computing is one of the most sought-after fields — blending distributed systems, embedded systems, networking, cloud, IoT, data and real-time processing. But that also means hiring managers are highly selective. They scan applications fast and look for signals of relevance, impact, technical depth and real-world delivery long before they read every line. This guide demystifies what hiring managers in edge computing look for first in your application — so you can tailor your CV, portfolio and cover letter to jump out of the stack. Whether you’re targeting edge systems roles, embedded IoT edge jobs, edge-native data roles, edge platform engineering or edge-AI positions, this checklist will help you position your experience in a way hiring managers can trust immediately.
