Position: Lead Mechanical Engineer



  • Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 DOE

Responsibilities Will Include

  • Mechanical engineering project oversight.
  • Key reviewer; peer to peer and gate reviews.
  • Management of the specific mechanical engineering project team.
  • Create and develop work breakdown schedules to manage the engineering team to project specific goals and deadlines.
  • Report progress and identify strengths and weaknesses in delivery.
  • Support the Head of Mechanical to provide insight to business strategic vision.
  • Mentor and support the development of Junior Mechanical Engineers.
  • Compliant with all aspects of company legislative compliance, HSE and HR.

Qualifications And Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years industry experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience leading a team.
  • Ability to create and review components, sub‑assemblies and General Arrangements in 3D CAD.
  • Ability to create and review 2D drawings in conjunction with BS8888.
  • Proven experience of working in a fast paced, challenging engineering sector.
  • Proven experience of delivering complex projects.
  • Proven experience of leading a cohesive and effective team.
  • Proven experience of empowering engineers and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Detailed understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes.

Note: Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with UK National security clearance required for certain roles.
