Summary

Job Description

This role is responsible for the safe handling of products & medicines to meet Home Care order requirements in line with Good Documentation Practice (GDP), Good Warehouse Practice (GWP), Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures and under the instruction of the Responsible Pharmacist.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, between 08:00 and18:00. Shift rotation 08:00 - 16:00 & 10:00 until 18:00.

Key Accountabilities

  • Receive, process and action accordingly (including storage) all good-in products ensuring accurate data entry and reconciliation of all receipts.
  • Store products by batch and utilise first-expired first-out principles in compliance with temperature & storage condition requirements.
  • Ensure products are picked, dispensed, and dispatched in a timely and accurate manner, following the standard operating procedures and critical metrics of the warehouse and pharmacy.
  • Undertake frequent compliance checks within the warehouse operations in line with Baxter Management Systems (e.g. Quality, H&S, Environment, and Operational Excellence) and external requirements (Good Warehousing Practice & General Pharmaceutical Council).
  • Raise any operational discrepancies to the Warehouse Supervisor and Responsible Pharmacist
  • Record events (e.g. incident, complaints, service issues) and assist with the investigation in accordance with the complaints procedure.
  • Lead and process all returns & waste in accordance with the warehouse and pharmacy standard operating procedures.

Qualifications And Experience

  • NVQ Level 2 in Dispensing Assistant or equivalent (preferably, otherwise full training will be provided)
  • High levels of accuracy with data entry
  • Good IT proficiency including using warehouse management systems
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous hands-on operational experience in a warehouse environment and/or pharmacy environment
  • Previous experience of working in a cold chain environment would be helpful
  • Successful experience in following standard operating procedures
  • Proven understanding of Safeguarding practices (at Level 1 or equivalent)
  • Good knowledge of safe manual handling practices
  • Proven understanding of applying Good Document Management practices
  • Frequent and repetitive manual handling
  • Wearing and using PPE (e.g. safety glasses, gloves, safety boots)
