Are you ready to launch your career in Mechanical Engineering with a leading expert in cutting-edge data center solutions? Equans Data Centers is seeking a motivated Graduate Project Engineer – Mechanical to join our innovative team and support exciting large-scale projects from inception to completion.

As a Graduate Project Engineer – Mechanical, you will become an integral part of our delivery teams, managing key mechanical elements on high profile projects. Based in High Wycombe, you will collaborate closely with experienced professionals, ensuring projects proceed on time, to quality standards with zero compromise on health & safety.

Starting in September 2026, you will join our two-year structured Graduate Programme, combining formal training with practical on-the-job experience. Our program offers a balance of training and on-the-job learning to support your transition to becoming an accomplished professional. You will take responsibility for your career, while we offer guidance and support to help you reach your goals.

We are looking for people who are motivated to continue learning and ready to take on new opportunities. You won’t be alone during the scheme, and you will be supported to drive your development through reviews and regular meetings with the Early Careers team. You will also be able to join any of our employee-led networks, including our Young Professionals Network.


What you will deliver

The type of tasks the successful candidates will be involved with are:

  • Supporting the design, review, and coordination of mechanical systems including:
    • CRAC/CRAH units
    • Chillers, cooling towers, heat exchangers
    • Airflow systems and ventilation
    • Piping and valves
    • Fuel systems, fire suppression, and building service
  • Assisting in analyzing drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure they meet project and compliance standards.
  • Participate in site inspections, quality checks, installation reviews, and readiness assessments.
  • Work with senior engineers on thermal load calculations, system capacity checks, modelling, and reporting.
  • Help prepare technical documentation, method statements, and commissioning support materials.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, controls, architectural, and IT) to ensure full systems integration.
  • Learn from suppliers and subcontractors about specialist mechanical equipment and installation practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute ideas to drive efficiency and innovation.
  • Assist in ensuring that work is carried out in full conformance with quality environmental and safety requirements.
