As an Exercise Clinic Lead Physiotherapist with us, you'll play a pivotal role in being responsible for tailored assessment and exercise prescription for people with cancer. Main duties of the job

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for the management of and co-ordination of the on-site provision of the Exercise Medicine Service for all patients referred.
  • Responsible for the management and co-ordination of the out-patient oncology physiotherapy service
  • Responsible for ensuring all referred patients undergo a comprehensive initial assessment (including risk assessment) and setting a personalised prescribed course of exercise medicine.
  • Management and supervision of the Exercise Oncology Specialist (Personal trainer Exercise Clinic).

Experience and skills:

  • A minimum of 3 years of post-graduate clinical experience, or equivalent, at a Band 6 level, ideally with experience in an oncology setting. Rotational experience in Surgery, Medicine, Musculoskeletal, Orthopaedics, and Neurology is essential.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a clinical setting, demonstrating autonomy and initiative in patient care.
  • Experience in teaching and supervising less experienced staff and students, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications and Knowledge:Essential:

  • BSc Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Membership of a specialist interest group, such as the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Oncology and Palliative Care (ACPOPC).

  • A clear understanding of clinical governance, quality assurance, and audit, with the ability to apply these principles in a healthcare setting.
  • Commitment to best practices and awareness of relevant national standards and guidelines.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), with a commitment to maintaining and advancing clinical expertise.
