The Opportunity

As a Mechanical Building Services Engineer, you will be a key part of the Building Services Engineering team, working on multidisciplinary projects providing guidance to graduate engineers and working alongside building physicists, sustainability consultants, energy and carbon consultants and BIM modellers. This team forms part of the wider region which includes civil, structural, fire, acoustics, specialist lighting, and other engineering disciplines.


As a digitally skilled Mechanical Building Services Engineer you will:



  • Play an active role in all stages of our projects from feasibility through to completion across a range of sectors.
  • Apply your engineering expertise to shape our projects, moving them towards net zero carbon.
  • Work in an interdisciplinary environment and aim to design buildings that maximise value for our clients whilst minimising their environmental impact.
  • Offer consultancy advice and prepare design reports, specifications, drawings and models to meet project deadlines.
  • Play a part in the ongoing digital transformation of our business, seeking new ways to increase our efficiency through automation and to offer new services to our clients through our integrated digital approach to design.

Is this role right for you?

We’re looking for a candidate who:



  • Holds a degree in Mechanical, Building Services, or Architectural Engineering.
  • Is working towards Chartered Engineer status (e.g., via IMechE or CIBSE).
  • Has experience in mechanical building services design plus strong knowledge and genuine interest in sustainable building design, with a focus on energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and adherence to current regulatory standards.
  • Is confident working in a BIM environment using Revit.
  • Has strong coding and digital skills, including: Backend development using Python, Excel, Power Query, or similar tools; Automation and AI integration for data processing and design workflows; Front-end development using Power BI, Python, or other platforms for data visualization and interaction; Tool development and support, including training colleagues and maintaining documentation.
